Sandro Cabral holds a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Management both at the Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA). He also holds a B.Sc. in Materials and Industrial Engineering at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar).

Research and publications focused on the interface between strategy, public management, and public policy.

CNPq Research Fellow (Bolsista de Produtividade em Pesquisa CNPq), board member of the Strategic Management Journal (2019-2022) and former board member of the Academy of Management Public and Nonprofit Division (2017-2020). Deputy-Editor of the Brazilian Review of Public Administration (RAP) and former Editor-in-Chief of Organizações & Sociedade (2014-2017). His research has been published in leading journals such as Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal; Long Range Planning, Public Choice, International Public Management Journal, among others. He has received two best paper awards at the Academy of Management Public and Nonprofit Division (2016 and 2019) and a best paper award at the Brazilian Academy of Management, ANPAD, in 2012.  He also received several teaching awards at UFBA.
