My main commitment is to train teachers for multiple spaces and levels of education. All managers must be qualified to promote learning in academic, professional, associative environments, making use of multipurpose resources and technologies, considering the different territorial realities.
Post-doctorate in Administration at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, the Institut de Hautes Études de l’Amérique Latine (IHEAL), France and the Center de Sociologie des Organizations, France. Ph.D. in Administration at the Universidade de São Paulo. Master in Administration and Graduation in Pedagogy at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.
Research and publications focused in the areas of Administration and Education, with emphasis on themes on local powers and social management of territorial development, organizations and interorganizations, management and education for management and professional education.
CNPq DTI 1A researcher. Full member of the Bahia Academy of Sciences. Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center for Development and Social Management (CIAGS/EAUFBA). Adviser to Fundação Banco do Brasil, SEBRAE and FIEB. Experience as president of the National Association of Graduate Administration Programs (ANPAD), as director of the National Association of Urban and Regional Planning Programs (ANPUR) and as director of the National Association of Transportation Education Programs (ANPET). Experience as a consultant to UNESCO, the World Bank and the IDB. Awards and distinctions received: Gold Medal 50 years of Brazilian Graduate Studies (CAPES), Outstanding Researcher (UFBA, 2009), Emeritus Researcher from CNPq (2016) and Comenda Milton Santos (2018).
